Project Description: Business Card Designs for Logica Softworks

Client: Logica Softworks
Project Type: Business Card Design
Services Provided: Graphic Design, Branding, Print-Ready Artwork, Template Production

Overview

NAV Branding designed a professional, tech-forward set of business cards for Logica Softworks, a Toronto-based firm specializing in custom software, data solutions, and training. The cards needed to represent Logica’s technical expertise while remaining approachable for non-technical decision-makers — a compact brand touchpoint that communicates credibility at conferences, client meetings, and industry events.

Issues Identified

  • Split Audiences: Logica serves both technical teams and business leaders; the card needed to appeal to both without diluting the brand.

  • Lack of Consistent Collateral: Previous networking materials were ad-hoc and inconsistent, weakening first impressions in client and partner interactions.

  • Functional Constraints: Cards needed to be scannable, easy to update for role changes, and legible at a glance (name, role, contact, CTA).

Creative Solution & Key Outcomes

  • Two-Variant System: We produced two complementary card variants:

    • Technical Variant: Minimal, clean layout emphasizing role (e.g., Lead Developer, Data Engineer), technical contact details, and a compact icon system for services (API, BI, Training).

    • Business Variant: Slightly more expressive layout with a short value tagline (e.g., “Software • Data • Training”), a clear CTA to “Book a Discovery Call,” and a QR code that links directly to Logica’s scheduling or contact page.
Both variants share unified typography, spacing rules, and Logica’s brand palette so they read as one coherent identity system.

  • Smart Information Hierarchy: Names, titles, phone, email, and primary CTA are prioritized; optional social/LinkedIn handles are included in a secondary hierarchy to prevent clutter.

  • Visual Treatment: The design uses a modern, code-inspired aesthetic—crisp grid alignment, subtle diagonal accents that suggest forward motion, and an iconography system that translates service offerings into quick visual cues. The business variant uses a slightly warmer approach to aid non-technical conversations; the technical variant is deliberately minimal to suit developer audiences.

  • Practical Additions: Each card includes a QR code for instant scheduling or portfolio access, and a small reverse-side area for jotting short notes (meeting date, follow-up item) — useful during busy conferences.

Deliverables & Specs

  • Files delivered: Vector master files (AI, SVG), print-ready PDFs, high-res PNG/JPG exports, and editable templates for rapid updates.

  • Print specs: Standard size 3.5" × 2", CMYK, 300 DPI, with 0.125" bleed. Recommended stock: 350gsm matte (soft-touch option available). Optional rounded corners (2–3mm).

  • Finish options: Matte with spot UV accent for logo or diagonal accent; alternate high-contrast mono version for single-color production.

  • Templates: Editable InDesign/Illustrator templates to update contact info or produce event-specific runs without designer intervention.

Strategic Impact & Client Feedback

Logica Softworks reported that the new cards helped create stronger first impressions at meetups, client pitches, and industry conferences. The dual-variant approach made it easier for team members to hand the right card to the right audience—technical contacts appreciated the clean, functional layout, while business leads responded positively to the concise value messaging and quick-scan QR CTA. Internally, Logica valued the editable templates which reduced turnaround time for new hires and role changes.

At NAV Branding, we design small assets with strategic purpose. These business cards now act as a reliable, flexible touchpoint for Logica Softworks — compact, professional, and built to convert conversations into connections.
